PERSEVERANCE ROVER | Multiple Camera’s Spot Orb on SOL 1091

BACKGROUND:
The photographs analyzed here were taken by the Rear Left Hazard Avoidance Camera (Hazcam) on March 15, 2024 (Sol 1091) at the local mean solar time of 11:18:05 and Front Left Hazard Avoidance Camera (Hazcam) on March 15, 2024 (Sol 1091) at the local mean solar time of 11:11:46 onboard the Perseverance Rover respectively.

ANALYSIS:
Featured here is another strange aerial phenomenon that has an orb/tic-tac like shape. It shows up in two photographs taken approximately six minutes apart. Could this be the same object photographed by two separate camera’s or could this be as a result of cosmic ray bursts or dead pixels on both camera’s? This object does not show up in photographs before or after these in the two sequences of photographs taken. In my opinion this rules out dead pixels in both camera’s.

As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal, I can only speculate as to what these objects might be.

ROVER CURIOSITY | Long Rod-Like Object Photographed on SOL 4629

BACKGROUND:
The photograph analyzed here was taken by the Right Navigation Camera onboard NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity on Sol 4629 (2025-08-14 12:03:20 UTC).

ANALYSIS:
Featured here is a strange aerial phenomenon – it has a long rod-like appearance. The anomaly only appears in one of the photographs out a of sequence of photographs taken of this spot in the sky by the same camera.

I have no idea how far it was from the rover, how long it is and how fast it was moving. Very limited data is provided on the NASA webpage for this particular photograph.

This, in my opinion, does not look like a typical meteorite burning up in the atmosphere.

As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal, I can only speculate as to what these objects might be.

ROVER CURIOSITY | Object Briefly Appears in Martian Sky (SOL 369)

BACKGROUND:
The photograph analyzed here was taken by the Rear Hazard Avoidance Camera (Rear Hazcam) onboard NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity on Sol 369 (2013-08-20 08:45:58 UTC).

ANALYSIS:
Featured here is what looks like a craft or bird-like object photographed in the Martian sky. The main object has symmetry and geometry to it and does not appear to be a camera artifact caused by a cosmic ray burst on the camera CCD. There are two orb-like objects located to the left, I wonder if they were accompanying the main object? The bright streak looks like a meteorite burning up in the atmosphere, but it’s pointing away from the surface … a rocket perhaps. All speculation I know.

All credit goes to the researcher who originally discovered this anomaly, regrettably I don’t know who it is.

As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal, I can only speculate as to what these objects might be.

MGS | Huge Rectangular Object Photographed in Aram Chaos on Mars

BACKGROUND:
The photograph analyzed here (E0101132) was acquired by NASA’s Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) on 2001-02-17 and is described as ‘Aram Chaos mapping.’

ANALYSIS:
Featured here is a huge rectangular object measuring approximately 100 metres wide. It appears to be partially embedded in the Martian surface with a strange material covering part of it and the immediate surroundings. There is also a elongated/dome-like protrusion in its center. This object has a hatch-type of appearance, perhaps a structure … or might it be an object of some kind that crashed into the Martian surface in the distant past? Could the material covering the object and its immediate surroundings be some type of plant-like material, e.g. fungus, vines, roots, vegetation etc.

As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal, I can only speculate as to what these objects might be.

MRO | Blue Orb-Like Anomaly Spotted in Reull Vallis on Mars

BACKGROUND:
The photograph analyzed here (ESP_025752_1395) was acquired by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter on 24 January 2012 and is described as ‘Reull Vallis.’

ANALYSIS:
Featured here is a blue orb-like anomaly and a pyramidal structure I discovered at a site in Reull Vallis North of Promethei Terra on Mars.

The sphere which appears self-illuminating measures approximately 3 metres in diameter and it might be above the surface as it appears to be casting a shadow (I can’t say for certain). The pyramidal feature, symmetrical in outline and in the shape of a five pointed star, measures approximately 150 metres wide by 200 mertes long.

The orb-like anomaly is located in the darker part of RGB colour strip of the photograph, hence the background appears B&W, but it is in colour.

As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal, I can only speculate as to what these objects might be.

ROVER CURIOSITY | Oblong Object Streaks Over Horizon on Sol 4607

BACKGROUND:
The photograph analyzed here was taken by the Right Navigation Camera onboard NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity on Sol 4607 (2025-07-22 22:10:38 UTC).

ANALYSIS:
Featured here is what looks like an oblong object streaking past leaving what appears to be a contrail behind it. The main object has the appearance of a disc photographed from the side (side view) with a narrow rectangular part mounted to it. The anomaly, in my opinion, doesn’t look like a typical meteorite burning up in the Martian atmosphere. Did the rover photograph a craft or was this an artifact caused by the camera?

As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal, I can only speculate as to what these objects might be.

REDUX | MRO | Anomalies West of Chronius Mons

BACKGROUND:
The photograph analyzed here (ESP_066180_1155) was acquired by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter on 08 September 2020 and is described as ‘Monitoring Dust Devil Tracks.’

ANALYSIS:
Featured here are a set of diverse anomalies I discovered at a site West of Chronius Mons in a region of Mars called Terra Cimmeria. The anomalies are huge ranging in size between about five to fourteen metres across.

As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal, I can only speculate as to what these objects might be.

MRO | Ancient Ruin Found in Zephyria on Mars

BACKGROUND:
The photograph analyzed here (ESP_036562_1820) was acquired by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter on 15 May 2014 and is described as ‘Enigmatic Terrain in Elysium Planitia.’

ANALYSIS:
Featured here is a totally out-of-place rectangular anomaly I discovered at a site in Zephyria in a region of Mars called Elysium Planitia. The anomaly is huge measuring approximately fifty metres across. There seems to the a larger rectangular wall with two smaller rectangular walls adjoining the larger one. There is also a dome-like object nearby measuring about ten metres is diameter.

In my opinion this might be a structure in ruin, with only the walls/foundations remaining.

As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal, I can only speculate as to what these objects might be.

MRO | Anomalies East of Mars 3 Lander on Mars

BACKGROUND:
The photograph analyzed here (ESP_057422_1285) was acquired by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter on 26 October 2018 and is described as ‘USGS Dune Database Entry Number 2161-512.’

ANALYSIS:
Featured here are a set of diverse anomalies I discovered at a site East of Mars 3 Lander in a region of Mars called Tader Valles.

The images featured here were upscaled using Topaz Labs’ Gigapixel.

As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal, I can only speculate as to what these objects might be.
