BACKGROUND:
The photograph analyzed here (B11_014040_1956_XI_15N197W) was acquired by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) Context Camera (CTX) on 2009-07-25 and is described as ‘Grjota Valles.’
ANALYSIS:
In this feature I present four examples of possible rectangular entrances cut or carved into sides of mounds or hills on Mars. The first two I present are located at a site in Grjota Valles; the openings both measure approximately 80 metres wide. The last two I present were photographed by Rover Curiosity. They look similar to those we find here on Earth at a site known as the Barabar Hill Entrances/Caves in India.
What type of technology could have been used to create these rectangular entrances and could those on Mars be similar to those we find here on Earth?
This was submitted to me by my friend Amine Belkessam.
Furthermore I present possible entranceways on sides of mounds photographed by Rover Curiosity.
As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal and investigate them in detail, I can only speculate as to what these anomalies might be.
