BACKGROUND:
The images analyzed here were acquired by the CNSA’s Tianwen-1 orbiter using its hi-resolution camera on 3 October 2025.
ANALYSIS:
Here I feature photographs taken of 3I/Atlas from Mars orbit, no tail is visible. The photographs were taken almost a month (3 October 2025) before the article was published (6 November 2025) on the CNSA website (a substantial delay). However, NASA still hasn’t released any hi-resolution photographs taken by it’s HiRISE camera onboard the MRO. So the ESA and CNSA have beaten NASA to the punch.
Perhaps the ESA and the CNSA will put NASA under some more pressure to release MRO HiRise photographs of 3I/Atlas. Let’s see what happens …
